This one came highly recommended after my post about the best Italian restaurant in Berlin, Bocca di Bacco. +39 (named after the dialling code for Italy) opened late last year by ...... aha! ...... the ex Bocca di Bacco's head chef in Berlin's most colourful quarter, Kreuzberg.
The verdict: Unadorned yet elegant. However, tables in the main dinning area are placed rather too close together for my liking and if you are not in the mood, the Italian pop soundtrack may also drive you nuts. Yet, once you have tasted the food, you wouldn't care less about anything else! I am still dreaming of my tagliolini tartufo bianco e asparagi verdi. Divine!
