Hereafter (USA - 2011) & Another Year (UK - 2010)
Two movies of lives in the slow lane, Eastwood's unfortunate timing paranormal 'Hereafter' & Leigh's uber-normal 'Another Year' - both ensemble drama with interwoven storyline. Hereafter is just weak, wet & wobbly throughout its painfully dull & predictable 129 min with the only message one gets from watching this film is "how many films can Matt Damon be in all at once?!". Another Year is poignant & it defines "a simple life of an ordinary Londoner" much better than I do!
