The verdict: Jason Atherton's (Gordon Ramsey's protégé & head chef @ Maze) first restaurant is already the talk-of-the-town. After £3m facelift of a slightly hidden location Pitcher & Piano pub in Mayfair, it has been converted into retro weds effortless minimalist tapas bar/dessert bar/restaurant. You just have to get past the snobby maître d' & their ugly Nick Hart of Savile Row uniform. PSS is spacious & despite a low-ceiling you can actually have a conversation during the meal. The food doesn't come in generous portion but adventurous & executed with confident with excellent results. Try 'Full English Breakfast' as an appetiser! or a 'Ham, Cheese & Herbs' dessert. Tables are already hard to get so book in advance.
