Warrior (USA - 2011)
The verdict: I have never been a fan of boxing films nor the actual sport & certainly not about to be with this hybrid genre of mixed martial arts. Yet, to me, as an actor, Tom Hardy is the new Russell Crowe & it's worth seeing the film just because he's in it. Still Warrior exceeded my expectations. A brilliantly executed movie, even if it relies on a lot of Hollywood's clichés. Terrific ensemble performance (certainly Nick Nolte's best since The Prince of Tides!) which allows its true essence to shine - a gripping cinematic experience with heart. Loved it!
