I was meant to be in Berlin today for one of my favourite operas, Don Carlo, starring one of my favourite singers. Also I was meant to have a check-up with my doctor (yes, my doctor is in Berlin & I live in London.... so what?!). First, the singer cancelled, then my friend who's agreed to accompany me to the premiere & last but not least my Dr.! Since one is no longer as young or as energetic as one used to be, a quiet Sunday at home doesn't seem like a bad idea after all.
